The negative effects of excessive or prolonged stress on an individual cannot be overstated: put simply, it is a killer. If you are suffering from excessive stress, whatever the cause, you should not ignore it for long, or it will certainly begin to make you ill, however strong or stoical you are.

Often, we hear cynical voices suggesting things like this: “Modern life has never been so easy”, and “Things were much more terrible during the war, but nobody talked about ‘stress’ then, you just had to get on with it.”

What these comments reflect is that society has changed, as people have become more aware of how much our health can be affected by the way we feel. Of course, people suffered terrible stress in the past also, but they were expected to suffer in silence. And if it made them ill, well, then they were just ‘weak’.

Now we no longer look at stress that way. Now it is acknowledged universally throughout the medical professions that excessive or prolonged stress, if untreated, causes serious health problems, and people should certainly not suffer in silence, but should seek expert advice on ways to reverse the dangerous build-up of stress.

Hypnosis is quite simply the best treatment there is for stress, and stress-related illness. It is literally the antidote. Using hypnosis it is easy to attain deeper states of relaxation than most people realise are even possible, which wipe out stress completely, opening the door to a new way of living for those with too much stress in their life. And hypnosis has no side effects whatsoever, so it is completely safe, which is more than can be said for the things many people lean on, like tobacco, alcohol, beta-blockers, tranquillisers and sleeping tablets.

It is also easy to learn how to do all this for yourself, so you aren’t needing long courses of therapy. Hypnosis is always more of a learning process than a “treatment”, and the mind adapts very readily to new ways of doing things – especially when they’re far more effective than the old way of dealing with the problem! So if you’re suffering from stress, there’s no need to suffer any longer. And even if you’re not actually suffering yet – just aware that you’re coping with an uncomfortable level of stress – don’t make the mistake of waiting until you actually hit that brick wall. With stress (and this is true for everyone) you don’t know where your personal limit is, and very often there is no warning at all, you just crash into it blindly, when you least expect it. The results can be anything from a mild panic attack to a fatal heart attack, as well as many other devastating conditions, and with all of these things PREVENTION IS A WHOLE LOT BETTER THAN… well, there’s no cure for fatal heat attacks, is there?

Hypnosis treatment for stress is designed to release your own natural, inner resources against stress that you may not even be aware you have. Hypnosis provides a means of releasing feelings of calm, well-being and confidence that may have been blocked since childhood or have never been allowed to surface before. Sometimes we only feel stressed about certain situations, e.g. at work, or over a specific problem, worry or upset, but stress may also have spread to become of a more general nature.
The main focus of hypnosis treatment is to bring you RELIEF, helping your nerves to become stronger and steadier, allowing you to calm down and cope better with whatever situations you are in. The crucial thing about stress is not the stress itself but how we cope with it. During hypnosis powerful coping strategies are introduced to ease the situation even further. This aspect is sometimes referred to as ‘stress management’.

Too much stress can drag us down and disable us totally. It may be affecting your life in a number of ways, affecting confidence, self esteem, sleep, and so on. If untreated it gets worse can have serious health consequences.

Sometimes there is deep rooted turmoil or upset within the mind preventing us calming down, it can be recent or may have been trapped in the inner mind for years. Sometimes we carry the baggage of the past, or past incidents with us all through our lives and never find a way to beak free from stress and calm down.

With other individuals, there may be little or no known upset from the past to deal with, it may simply be a situation where the subconscious mind, which is rather like a computer in some respects, has become ‘mis-programmed’ to produce stress, anxiety or even panic, in certain, specific situations. Eventually the stress can spread until it is affecting life in general. Hypnosis is famous for ‘reprogramming’ the mind and positive feelings can be made to automatically replace the negative ones. Of course, nothing can take place during hypnosis that goes against the wishes or will of the individual concerned.

Stress can affect confidence, self-esteem, sleep, health and begin to affect every aspect of you life.
